Abstract

PT PQR is a pharmaceutical manufacturing industry company in Indonesia. At the development stage of PT PQR there were complaints from employees about work fatigue due to work pressure and work stress by superiors as well as complaints about workloads at work. The purpose of this research was to determine the optimal number of employees at PT PQR's Technology and Product Transfer division by looking at aspects of the Swedish Occupational Fatigue Index (SOFI) method and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX).  The results of NASA-TLX calculations show that the Analysis Method Validation division has the highest score, namely 85.60 (heavy) and a proposal is made by adding 1 worker to 6 workers so that the average is 71.33 (moderate). The calculation results of the SOFI method show that all divisions have moderate scores and suggestions are made with the existence of short breaks and stretching at work. With this suggestion, employees are expected to get optimal mental workload.
