Abstract

Organizational effectiveness is a central problem that must be faced, including for organizations such as private universities. At this time, private universities in Indonesia, including those in the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region IV, are suspected of having problems at the level of organizational effectiveness. This assumption is strengthened by the results of surveys of international institutions, as well as the results of evaluations from educational institutions that manage higher education in Indonesia. In theory, the level of organizational effectiveness in higher education is influenced by the level of performance shown by the lecturers. Lecturers in the university environment are a very important driving force to improve quality higher education. The level of performance of the lecturers is influenced by the level of opportunity or organizational support for the lecturers. These opportunities and support are implemented in the variable organizational commitment and organizational culture. These two factors are believed to be the dominant factors in terms of the University in facilitating the improvement of lecturer performance. The results of research and discussion show that the level of lecturer performance has the most dominant direct influence on work effectiveness followed by culture and organizational commitment. Furthermore, from the two variables, namely; Organizational culture has the most dominant influence on lecturer performance levels.
