Modification of the Synthesized ZnO Nanoparticles by Doping with Cobalt and Carbon Nanotubes and Investigation Its Catalytic Activity Via Removing of Bsimarck Brown G Dye from Its Aqueous Solution
Abstract
The present work represents preparation of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) using red tea leaf extract by combination with zinc nitrate hexahydrate as an eco-friendly method. Then, prepared ZnONPs was doped with cobalt yield modified ZnONPs, (Co/ZnONPs). Then, these materials was combined with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to yield ZnONP/CNTs, and Co/ZnONPs/CNTs. The prepared materials were characterized using X- rays diffraction (XRD) technique, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), BET specific surface area, and Raman spectra .The activity of these materials was investigated by following removal of BBG dye from its simulated aqueous solution by adsorption. The best efficiency of BBG dye removal by adsorption was around 82%after one hour of adsorption period and it was obtained overCo/ZnO/MWCNTs.
