Abstract

This paper utilizes a battery which is in parallel to the PV Panel in the proposed system. It works fine with buss
voltages of low voltage, but in case of high voltages, due to the heavy currents induced in the circuit, the battery
alone cannot withstand the excess current that is generated in the circuit and hence a supercapacitor is introduced
in parallel to the battery. Steady state voltage control is acknowledged by the parallel controller to meet the
prerequisites of the proposed system. The supercapacitor is utilized for channeling the Solar Panel yield which also
reduces the cycle pattern of the Li-ion battery pack that is used. This technique is proposed in order to protect the
battery from all the abnormalities introduced in the system to ensure proper operation of the battery which helps in
lengthening the battery lifetime. The battery and super/ultracapacitor are controlled to operate in the required
modes of operation by utilizing a parallel controller which also ensures the efficient operation of the battery too by
controlling the cycles of the battery. The simulation results show the efficient working of the proposed system.
