Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a heterogeneous network of wireless networks of various types like RFID and
(MANETs, ZigBee, Wi-Fi, mobile ad hoc networks and wireless sensor networks (WSNs). It must be compliant with
WSNs and MANETs to make IoT a reality for smart surroundings more appealing to end-users and economically
successful. In view of this, a new quantitative confidence model for an IoT-MANET is explored in the present paper.
The proposed model of trust combines a judgment of direct and indirect trust to calculate the final confidence value
of a node. A beta probabilistic distribution is used to mix various trusts proof and the estimation of direct trust.
ARMA/GARCH theory has been used to merge the evidence of recommendation trust and forecast each node's
resulting confidence value in multi-step forward. In addition, a routing protocol was created to ensure safe and
trustworthy end-to-end packet transmission by considering only trusted nodes in the route. Simulation results
indicate that our proposed trust model exceeds related current trust models.
