Integrates DMH and IDMH Heuristic Algorithms to Automate the Reassigning Virtual Machines in IaaS Clouds
Abstract
In this modern era of advanced development in information technology and the need for a rapid transaction to meet business requirements, most highly available systems are hosted on the cloud. The cloud system gives an advantage to the organizations because they do not need to purchase high-end servers, but can subscribe to clouded service providers that can meet their requirements with minimal cost. The cloud service providers provide different services such as Software as a service (SAAS), Platform as a service (PAAS), Infrastructure as a service (IAAS). The customer has the privilege to choose the service they require. HIDM (Hybrid Iterative Direct Move) is a heuristic algorithm that integrates DMH and IDMH algorithms to automate the reassigning VMs in IaaS clouds. This experiment will focus on IAAS to evaluate the efficiency of HIDM in a cluster of cloud machines having virtual machines in each cluster. Four clusters of different configurations are configured for the experiment. The output of this experiment is compared with the output of DMH and IDMH to ascertain which one is more efficient in a cluster of a cloud system. The experimental result and graphs are shown below give credence to the high efficiency of HIDM when compared to DMH and IDMH.
