Abstract

The world is composed of three-dimensional space. Two-dimensional GIS refers to a conceptual model that simplifies the real world into a two-dimensional projection on a plane. It is powerless to describe the phenomenon of three-dimensional space. In order to overcome this shortcoming, the three-dimensional geographic information system came out. Based on 3D modeling technology, laser point cloud modeling meets the needs of spatial information visualization in the fields of production, scientific research, management, and decision-making. This article discusses the 3D geographic information modeling method.
