Abstract

This paper represents an improved method for determining reduced order model
(ROM) of discrete interval systems (DIS) using Routh approximation (RA) along with
matching time moments (TM) and Markov parameters (MP) of higher order systems (HOS).
This method initiates with the conversion of DIS into its corresponding continuous interval
system (CIS) by using linear transformation (LT). Then, denominator coefficients of CIS are
computed from RA technique by obtaining the Routh table. Similarly, numerator coefficients
of CIS are obtained by matching the TM and MP. Finally, the obtained ROM in continuous
domain is converted back into DIS by using inverse linear transformation (ILT). The
validation of this proposed method is exampled by a sampled test system. The superiority of
the proposed technique is signified from the frequency response of the test system
