Abstract

Entrepreneur is the buzz word. People having work experience with MNC degrees from top colleges across the world or someone with no prior work experience and little education, both these type of people have made their way in the world of start-ups. Is leader born or made is an ongoing discussion with different perspectives. There are successful entrepreneurs like Steve jobs, Bill Gates and Narayan Murthy who are self-made entrepreneurs and there is Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani and David W. MacLennan who come from business families and have contributed tremendously to the growth of their businesses.

One characteristic which is found to be common in entrepreneurs across is passion, passion to build their dreams, passion to achieve and to do so taking risk becomes inevitable. Failures become lesson and successes are embraced. But it is strongly believed that there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ blueprint to achieve entrepreneurial greatness. In fact, there cannot be one generic model that can be applied to all start-ups in all sectors of the economy and to all nascent entrepreneurs.
