Interpretation Of Electronic Spectra Of Complexes Of Ni(II) For Calculation Of Interelectronic Repulsion Parameter
Abstract
Transition metal complexes of Ni(II) ion have been synthesized using Glycine as primary ligand and Pyridine, ?-picoline, ?-picoline and Oxine as secondary ligand, with the general composition NiL2X2 ( where L = ligand and X = Pyridine, ?-picoline, ?-picoline and Oxine ). The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR & electronic spectra. The Racah parameter and Nephelauxetic ratio have been calculated. Interpretation of spectral studies suggests an octahedral geometry for all the complexes.
