Enhancing Professional Capacity Course of Rajasthan University In B.Ed.: Drama and Art in Education

Abstract

In this paper the current B.Ed. , there is a detailed on the scheme based training program in teacher training institutes affilated by Rajasthan University. The objective of the article presented is to include arts and drama in the curriculum of all educational institutions.  The report of the National Focused Groups of Arts, Music and Dance recommended that this subject should be taught as a compulsory subject in all schools in universities.  In this context, this subject was included in all teacher - training institutes.  The National Council of Teacher Education has included this course as a compulsory course since (2015) with a two - year B.Ed course.  This course was started for professional extension.  There are four sub-topics set out as Professional Efficiency Extension (EPC).  In the article presented by the author, the E.P.C.  operated at TEI.  The Rajasthan University, has introduces the courses and has successfully implemented the course Drama and Art in Education at B.Ed.  level. 

The characteristics and objectives of the course are reflected.  The university has four courses which –

EPC 1: Reading and Reflecting on Texts

EPC 2: Drama and Art in Education

EPC 3: Critical Understanding of ICT

EPC 4: Understanding the Self

This course has been conducted with the aim of promoting creativity, trust, organization and competence in B.Ed students and is being imagined by teachers and students.  What they improved after studying this subject.  A good faculty is being created in the university. Through this course in the university, various professional skills are being expanded among the teachers by organized various activities, which is a very commendable work.  From time to time syllabic activities are conducted by teachers.
