Bridging the Gap between Teachers’ Beliefs and Students’ beliefs on Written Error Correction

Abstract

Written error feedback has been a research concern for years because of its pedagogical and theoretical significance. This essay conducts a literature review on teachers’ and learners’ assumptions on written error correction and discovers gaps such as whether there should be written EC, in what form and type of written EC should be provided. Since teachers’ and students’ beliefs are shaped by their own experiences, the author thinks it’s vital for each part realizes their beliefs construction process and communicates soundly with each other so that gaps could be bridged
