Effects of the Ultrasonic Vibration Frequency on the Rules of Rock Crushing
Abstract
As a new technique, the ultrasonic vibration rock crushing method possesses huge advantages and potentials in improving the hard rock crushing efficiency. We have directly applied the ultrasonic vibration to rocks via the ultrasonic transducer and performed the macroscopic observation on the variation of rocks' compressive strength via the universal tester, as well as the microscopic observation on the variation of porosity via the MRI scanner. A combination of macroscopic and microscopic observations is adopted to explore the rules of rock crushing under ultrasonic vibrations with various frequencies. It can be concluded from the research that: the rock's porosity is inversely proportional to its compressive strength. With a 35 KHz vibration frequency, the rock's compressive strength is decreased by 41.67% at most
