Research on Garden Landscape Simulation System Based on Unity3D

Abstract

The study of landscape simulation is an important method for the visual display of landscape design. In the past, the virtual presentation of landscape architecture was usually completed by using 3D modeling software, such as 3ds Max. Obviously, this approach is inefficient, and the results it achieves are one-time. In order to realize the reuse of plant models, some plant model rapid generation systems have been applied to large-scale scene simulation, such as Speed Tree. However, the classification of plant models in these rapid generation systems is not scientific, and the selection principles of plant species are not applicable to the simulation of landscape design. In addition, these systems cannot complete garden scene simulation independently, and need to rely on other simulation platforms. This paper designs and develops a classical garden scene simulation system based on Unity 3D. This system integrates a model library, which has more than 200 kinds of garden plant models and classical garden building models, which can quickly complete the simulation of classical garden landscape. It also has some functions, such as model library management, model parametric editing, Weather regulation. The results of this research can greatly improve the efficiency and convenience of garden landscape simulation.
