Abstract

This study aims to discuss the influencing factors of urban residents' household solid waste reduction intentions under the background of the COVID-19 pandemic and put forward improvement measures to improve sanitary conditions. This study investigate the related factors of waste reduction intention by analyzing the questionnaire conducted in Nanchang, China. Data obtained from 416 of the 500 questionnaires were used to assess TPB structure. Questionnaire analysis shows that attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, and situational factors can obviously predict waste reduction intention. Through the structural equation model analysis, we conclude that activities aimed at moral obligations may play a prominent role in improving participation of waste reduction behavior. The practices or measures of this study can be used as guidance and reference for other regions. However, adjustments need to be made according to geographical and socio-economic factors.
