Abstract

The article deals with the problem of over use of foreign words in the Uzbek language. Some examples of the most obvious borrowings that violate the understanding of communication are presented in the article. Some ways of improving the literacy of borrowed words usage are also suggested in the article. As it is argued in the article, the speakers of this or that language should not use a foreign borrowed word just because it is “fashionable”; on the contrary, linguists should try to find full equivalents of a foreign borrowed word and popularize it among the native speakers. Essential ways of borrowing English words into the Uzbek language and ways of recognizing such words are also discussed in the article. The process of globalization is regarded as the dominant factor in deriving words from one language to another one.
