Abstract

Richard Wagamese is a Canadian Writer with many popular works to his name. Of those, two novels have
shown a great deal of foresight which is mutual in both the novels and the protagonists of either are able
to cling on and experiment diverse ways in utilization of this method for self-benefit. Depicted is an
archaic ideology passed on in one, in the other, the ideology is acquired. Wherein, they exhibit similar
traits of cognizance to empower their area for survival and involvement in the beautiful game. Indian
Horse is able to perceive the game and comprehend the intricate moves made by the opposition which can
be traced back to his ability being an Indian gift of foresight. In Medicine Walk, Starlight is brought up in
a completely indigenous society by a member of the Ojibway tribe. He is moulded into being a complete
tribal personality and finds bliss in this. His ability to track and trace animals based on smell, footprints
and other relevant clues to help his gut formulate the path taken by the respective animal and when it was
trodden. These are archetypal attributes which they possess and can help them utilize it for their benefit
