Employee Performance in the era of COVID-19: Implications for Public Sector’s Management in the United Arab Emirates

Abstract

As the COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by surprise, it has resulted in an alteration to
human activities that have not never been seen before. Among the many areas that have been most
affected is how organizations whether public or private maintain operations during lockdowns and
other strict measures that governments around the world have resorted to. Employee performance has
risen as the main concern in that context, this study is focusing on examining certain factors that may
influence employee performance which is derived from the literature to come out with a proposed
conceptual framework for the future empirical undertaking. The intended context of this study will
be employees within the public sector in the United Arab Emirates and implications are thoroughly
discussed as well.
