Grey Rapes: Exploring the dimensions of Rapes based on Dutch TV Series, Raped or Not

Abstract

The paper explores the dimensions of human sexuality and to what extent a sexual assault be termed as rape. Many rape cases and sexual violation incidents are witnessed by the people where they term it as grey rape and not rapes. The paper focuses on the issue of grey rape and which incidents can actually be called rapes based on the novel. BDSM, where cruelty or assault is shown but both the sex experience pleasure and Vanilla sex which eliminates kink and elements of BDSM is also explored to define the real meaning of rape .The difference between intercourse with consent and intercourse without consent which lead to the traumatic after effects on the victim is shown in the paper. The study deals with the elements and incidents that not every sexual violence, sex with domination, bondage and sadistic pleasure be called as rape. The paper analyzes the grey area that lies in between intercourse with consent and intercourse without consent of the other party.
