Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to implement materials selection of a small domestic product (13A plug) by utilizing the software of CES EduPack. This work represents an introductory problem statement of demonstrating how a designer is capable of selecting a small sub-set of the best- rated materials from a massive list of selections. It works on identifying the main intentions and limitations associated with the presented functional component, as well as illustrating how to utilize that for making the selection of the materials. The obtained results demonstrated that Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) next Polypropylene (PP) are the most appropriate materials which meet the requirements of 13A plug casings performance.
