Abstract

 Metallurgy is the study of materials science and designing that emphasis on the physical and artificial conduct of metallic components. It's likewise the innovation of metals. Verifiable advancement of metallurgy science is found within the past human progress and culture like antiquated Egypt, old and time of life China, old and archaic India culture. Numerous applications and innovation, for instance, solid metal, impact heater, gold washing, and twofold acting cylinder howls were related with the metallurgy science. However, in medieval Assam, the people generally used native metals which could easily smelted from ores. The Ahom rulers of Assam were ardently curious about exploring new prospects for commerce and revenue. Assam’s abundant resources for iron and gold production received their attention. They encouraged traditional smelters for developing heritage metal technologies. Therefore, this paper focuses on the position of traditional gold washing and iron smelting technology within the medieval Assam.
