Controlling of Factors influencing quality degree of highway projects in Baghdad

Abstract

Recently, the highway quality of projects has been considered as an important variable to measure
successful and sustainable construction projects. This paper is carried out to scrutinize the factors that have adverse
effect on the construction projects to improve the highway management of projects in Baghdad. A questionnaire form
was developed on the basis of factors to determine the opinion of highway construction experts. A total of 39 factors
of the highway quality have been distinguished through literature review. The analysis of respondents' points of view
using the weighted arithmetic means and the approach of Fuzzy Triangle to determine the factors that are important
that influence the quality are having experienced staff of the owner and contractor teams during project
implementation. , Contractor’s past experience, the lowest bidder Selection to construct the project, filling materials
and their quantity in the mixture, Restrictions on sources of material, type of equipment, and method of construction
which is imposed by specifications, Failure to design for paving according to the conditions of regional (for example,
the type of soil, the temperature, and the traffic volume)
