Methodological approaches to assess the role of transport as a branch of material production
Abstract
At present, the international accounting and reporting system makes it possible to carry out a systematic analysis of logistic costs within the system of national accounts of each country, including transport costs, both for foreign trade operations and for turnover in the domestic market, which serves as an important source for studying the role and places of transportation and logistics in ensuring the sustainability of the country's economy. In this context, it is necessary to evaluate the value-added that the transportation “gained” in a particular region. The use of the criterion of reducing the transport intensity of the economy is recommended by the authors to assess the impact of the level of development of transport logistics on the competitiveness and economic growth of a country or region
