Abstract

In the present scenario especially in the industrial sector, the use of BLDC motor is increasing day by day. The
major reason for its increase in usage is its higher efficiency due to the absence of brushes which reduces its losses
in the form of heat and noise. The major drawback in BLDC motor is the torque ripple during its functioning which
makes its output undesirable as per the requirement. Keeping these things into consideration, the modified SEPIC
converter and the 3-level NPCMLI is used in order to reduce the torque ripples. For effective torque ripple
reduction, dc selector circuit has been used for providing regulated dc supply from the SEPIC converter during the
commutation interval. Finally, the combination of NPCMLI and the modified SEPIC converter reduces the torque
ripple of BLDC Motor. Hence, the required less ripples in the torque output has been achieved.
