Effect of Polyurethane (Pu) on Environmental Characteristics of Jute/Basalt Reinforced Composite Material
Abstract
A research on the preparation and characterization of jute/basalt reinforced composites as a novel polymer matrix has been published in the present report. By considering the orthogonal L27 series, for 3 levels and 4 method parameters, the material is prepared by hand layup technique. The mechanical properties such as tensile and flexural are calculated and the Taguchi method analyzes the optimum composition. By using the rule of mixtures of the highest strength exhibiting composition, hand calculations were performed to find elastic constants. There is also a study of the water absorption and thermal (TGA) properties of composites. The findings show that with PU, after physical alteration, the material has strong deformation resistance and high-temperature storage properties. At the same time, the temperature stability and mechanical properties of the emulsified composite material can also be enhanced by the PU. The PU blend has outstanding properties and can be used in areas that involve water penetration, noise reduction, and anti-skidding.
