A Brief Assessment and Evaluation of Pre-service Teacher Education Programme for Secondary School Level with Special Reference to Kamrup (M) District of Assam

Abstract

With the development of society teachers are recognized as an agent of social transformation. It is insurable that full responsibility of education only should be in the hands of teachers. To maintain the quality of education concern should be made for teacher training. Pre-service teacher training program are very effective to develop cognitive side of teacher trainee for their effective performance. Assessment and evaluation should be there always to maintain the quality, despite that in this paper researcher was analyzed and evaluate briefly about pre service teacher education course for secondary level. Further, in this paper the researcher aimed to study the perception of teacher educators and teacher trainee towards the effectiveness of curriculum and also tried to compare the infrastructural facilities between Private and Government teacher education Institution. Descriptive survey method was employed for the present study. The population of the study consisted of all the Private and Government B.Ed. colleges of Kamrup (M) district of Assam. Findings of the study revealed that in case of Government sector the quality of infrastructural facilities can be seen low than Private sector.
