Job Motivation and Organizational Trust Predicting Organizational Commitment of Employees Working at an Electrical State Enterprise

Abstract

The objectives of this study are 1) to study levels of job motivation, organizational trust, and organizational commitment of employees, 2) to study relationship between job motivation and organizational commitment of employees, 3) to study relationship between organizational trust and organizational commitment of employees, 4) to predict organizational commitment of employees with job motivation and organizational trust. The research samples were 110 employees working in power plant engineering department at an electrical state enterprise. The instrument employed in the study was a questionnaire. The statistics used to analyze data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, pearson product moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of this research revealed that 1) Employees had high level of job motivation, the highest level of organizational trust and high level of organizational commitment; 2) There was a positive relationship between job motivation and organizational commitment with a statistical significance at .01 level (p < .01); 3) There was a positive relationship between organizational trust and organizational commitment with a statistical significance at .05 level (p < .05); and 4) The aspects of job motivation: growth needs and aspects of organizational trust : reliability accounted for 11.00% of variance in organizational commitment of employees.
