Optimizing Online Guidance in an Effort to Prevent the Spread of the Covid-19 Virus (Case Study at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, Bandung State Islamic University)

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic demands that everyone, including students and mentors, to stay at home. However, the guidance process between them still has to go on. This sustainability effort uses online guidance media. Internet networks are well known in Indonesia. Moreover, students are conventional with internet network since they are social media users. Some of today's popular social media are familiar due to its convenient access using smartphone devices. This study aims to determine the online media for guidance. Also the role of digital natives in online counseling relationships. This includes the form of online counseling relationships in personal, study, career and social guidance that previously built face-to-face, now strengthens through virtual reality. And naturally, knowing the reliability to carry out virtual guidance communication that is tied to the ethical aspects of professional culture. The research method uses case studies. Taking place on the UIN Bandung campus, specifically in the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication. There are a number of research objects among students and those approved as the main data source. The results showed that online guidance and counseling services are commonplace in internet networks. This is especially true for all students who access the internet on social media such as WhatsApp, e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, and so on. The development of tutoring services via the internet for education has the potential to facilitate the student guidance process. Online tutoring becomes highly interactive in real time. For education, the use of online tutoring is a form of assistance in the form of easily accessible guidance services. This online guidance model can be used as a means of information, coordination and interaction of many students. Online tutoring is the answer to face-to-face interaction difficulties
