Functional Textile and Nano-Materials used for Combating COVID-19

Abstract

Coronavirus pandemic also popularly known as COVID-19 is already spread and effected many people and their daily lives. However, in spite of the spreading of COVID-19, more and more people are now depending on Innovative textile and Nano-materials for protecting themselves from this deadly virus. There are many challenges being posed by COVID-19 to develop innovative protective materials and use of Nano-technology to combat COVID-19. In this research, the application, advantages of innovative textile and Nano-materials is discussed keeping the extent to which COVID-19 has damaged the public life today. The paper also discuss the use of germ trap technology, N95 masks, personal protective equipment, anti-viral semiconductors, carbon based Nano-materials, hand sanitizers and polymer coatings coupled with contribution of synthetic biology to develop diagnostic and treatment medicines to overcome COVID-19 disease. The results shown by the use of these innovative and Nano-materials is promising and to a greater extent has contributed to the control and development of human mankind to overcome the fear and deaths caused by COVID-19.
