A Study of the Research Pubications on Sesamum Indicum

Abstract

Sesamumindicum is a plant growing and cultivated in Africa and Asia including India. The plant has many medicinal features such as antioxidant properties, digestive, sedative, analgesic, and helps in any GI tract disorders . The aim of this study was to have an overview of the research publications on Sesamumindicum. For the study, the data was collected from Web of Science database. The present study deals with the research publications on Sesamumindicum over the past 30 years. The nature of the research publications varies where a total of 608 records out of 679 are published as articles with a publication percentage of  89.543. The present study shows that out of 679 papers, with a total of 44 number of publications the year 2018 is the most productive year. The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences has done the highest research with a total of  27 records (3.976%). Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences has the highest publication with a number of 57(8.395%).
