Abstract

Tea is one of the most popular beverages in the world. It is widely consumed all over the world. Due to industrialization, using vast amounts of chemicals, commercial brands, heavy metals (Cu, Mn, Zn, Cd)are commonly present in the tea plants regarding soil and geographical origin. Heavy metal contents were determined by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS). It causes some health-related issues as well as an effect on the plant's physiological process. Zinc and cadmium are primary heavy metal which is commonly present in the tea. Most importantly, they cause the generation of reactive oxygen species causing oxidative stress in the plant.
