Abstract

Hawk-eyed space systems help humans to observe the environmental conditions on earth and space continuously in taking precautionary measures due to natural calamities either from earth or space. Data plays a crucial part in proper functioning of space systems, these systems involves the data converters where a small amount of error also leads to a major misconception and lead to severe damage to the human race. In this paper a 9 bit SAR ADC with a differential non linearity (DNL) of 0. LSB, integral non linearity (INL) of 0.026 LSB is designed for the implementation of calibration of ADC such that the overall error generated can be reduced. The SAR ADC designed can also be integrated in space systems as an individual ADC without calibration as the power dissipation is 4.2mW with sampling frequency of 1MS/s occupying an area of 0.066 mm2. 9 Bit SAR ADC is designed using SCL 0.18µm technology in cadence tools.
