Abstract

The main objective of this study is to examine the impact of work-life balance, work environment, job satisfaction and the intention to leave the workplace among female employees. The data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire, and a descriptive survey design was carried out.  A sample size of 400 was taken from employees working in various organizations across Klang Valley using a stratified sampling process. The hypothesis is tested on the basis of the answers to the questionnaires and the results of this study indicated that the work-life balance relationship has a significant effect on the intention to leave, whereas the working environment has no major influence on the intention to leave. For the mediating variable, job satisfaction mediates the relationship between work-life balance and intention to leave. This research concludes that knowledge of factors influencing the employee's intention to leave the workplace is a key aspect of human resource practices , especially for female employees in Malaysia.
