Abstract

Increasing the communication network efficiency of mobile phone networks in
the city contributes to increasing spatial interaction among the community and business
activities of the community. this study is based on the idea that upgrading with telephone
services provided to citizens is only possible through the growth and development of all
levels of this service using advanced technologies to know problems and find appropriate
solutions in a short time and at lower cost.
From here, the objectives of the study were crystallized, which came based on the
importance of GIS planning for services in general and infrastructure services in
particular, including telephone services, which is the point of contact between individuals
on the one hand and cities with each of them.
The telecommunications service has an effective role in the economy and limits time,
distance, effort and cost. Therefore, the study came to clarify the most important
influencing variables that go into the installation of this service, and it seeks to distribute
the towers ’communication network in the city. it was also based on planning standards
and obstacles to services, including a network wired communication as well as the study
showed the role of geographic information systems in studying and planning cities and
appropriate spatial distribution of telecommunications service for mobile phone networks.
The practical side dealt with the reality of the spatial distribution of the
telecommunications network towers (Zain Al-Atheer) in Al-Diwaniyah city and a
statement of the state of spatial balance in all sectors of the city of Diwaniyah and that the
spatial distribution of a network telecommunications (Zain Al-Atheer) in the city is subject
to standards that are affected by both population density and physical area
The inhabited area for each neighborhood, studying these criteria, and producing an
electronic map for this distribution and indicating regions Weaknesses and strengths in
every region using geographic information systems (GIS).
