Abstract

In this work a novel renewable energy harvesting scheme with a set of two Solar Photo Voltaic sources, and a battery storage system that are integrated to a typical micro grid is presented. The harvested renewable energy is integrated to the DC bus bar and further to the AC bus bar through a partial resonant inverter. The proposed system uses the Sliding Mode Controller for the MPPT of the solar photo voltaic system. The advantages of the partial resonant inverter and the AC link driven matrix type converter with bidirectional power flow feature are brought out. The proposed idea has been validated using various simulations in the MATLAB SIMULINK environment and further with a number of experiments with the relevant hardware prototype.
