Determination and Notification of Overloaded Vehicles Using ESP8266

Abstract

Abstract—Exceeding the Maximum allowed weight limit by a vehicle is considered as vehicle overloading and hence it is an illegal offence.The streets and roads of any nation are important medium of transport communication. Therefore overloading a vehicle is dangerous to road safety and security. Every vehicle is allowed to carry weight up to certain limit and hence vehicle exceeding that limit might cause problems like road accidents or damage to vehicles, hence this carries a range of llegitimately enforceable penalties. Therefore a system to determine and notify the overloading in vehicle is proposed in this work. Here, for determining the load of a vehicle a Load cell is used to via WIM (Weigh-In-Motion) technology, and IoT (Internet of Things) technology is used for notifying whether the vehicle is overloaded or not. This work uses ArduinoUNO and ESP8266 Wi-Fi module. These modules are used for interfacing the load cell and sending the notification on the Phone when there is overloading in vehicle.
