Abstract

The article presents the results of the synthesis of linear copolymers with different content of monomer units by the method of radical copolymerization of isohexyl methacrylate with vinyl monomers such as acrylonitrile and styrene in polar solvents. Binary radical copolymerization of isohexyl methacrylate with acrylonitrile and styrene was synthesized in a solution of dimethylformamide at 60-80 ° C in the presence of a radical initiator using the free radical polymerization technique. It has been shown that copolymerization does not proceed without an initiator, which indicates the radical nature of the reaction. The structure of the synthesized compounds was confirmed by IR spectral analysis. The participation of multiple bonds of both monomers in the copolymerization process was established. The found values ??of the copolymerization constants for the St-IGMA system show that isohexyl methacrylate is a less reactive monomer in copolymerization reactions than styrene. In the entire range of compositions of the initial mixture, copolymers are formed enriched in the more active monomer, styrene.
