Abstract

Todays vehicles contain hundreds of circuits and electrical components. To have flexible communication among all these components multiplexing is important. Multiplexing plays an important role in working of a vehicle and makes vehicle more efficient. The new generation cars are excellent example of artificial intelligence. Similarly developing safety measures to prevent drunk and drowsy driving is also a major challenge for car industry. In last five years near about 61 percent of people lost their lives on highways. Alcohol was the factor in most of these cases. Though government had set the laws and enforcement over the drunk and drowsy driving but these laws are frequently broken. The authority cannot control the accidents on each and every path. In order to increase the safety on roads it is necessary to provide a system which prevent the drunken person from driving the vehicle. In this system the ignition will be automatically locked as soon as it senses the alcohol. The embedded system used to calculate the amount alcohol content in the breath of the person sitting on the driver’s seat. This will restrict the driver from starting the vehicle by locking the ignition system. Further the alcohol percentage calculated is send to an authorized person by using GSM modem. This will increase the safety of passengers in the car. The four digit PIN to the car will also help to protect the vehicle from theft.
