A Three Phase to Six Phase Conversion System with a Resonant AC Link
Abstract
In the proposed system, instead of the conventional transformer based three phase to six phase conversion scheme a power electronic converter for three phase to six phase conversion is used. In the six phase system a phase angle of 60 degrees is maintained between the phases. The proposed system uses a resonant single phase AC link driven by a three phase bidirectional converter unit. The AC link is feeding the six phase bidirectional converter. The proposed system has been validated using simulations in the MATLAB SIMULINK environment and relevant experimental verification.
