Abstract

The aim of this paper is to find the health problems faced the women workers in rubber plantation in Kanyakumari district. Rubber plantation workers are vulnerable to a variety of health hazards and being in the unorganized sector, do not enjoy the benefits that their counterparts in organized sector enjoy. Hence, monitoring of their health needs to be done periodically. The objective of this study is to assess the health status and common illnesses of rubber plantation workers and to detect the prevalence of non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension among rubber plantation workers in Kanyakumari district. The current study has used survey method for collecting primary data of 600 respondents using convenience sampling technique for the empirical analysis of health problems faced the women workers in rubber plantation.
