A STUDY ON MORAL REASONING OF 7th STANDARD STUDENTS IN KUNDAH TALUK OF THE NILGIRIS DISTRICT

Abstract

Schools are responsible for developing moral reasoning skills among their students and it makes them to understand what is good or bad and helps them to make correct decisions. The present study is conducted in Kundah taluk of the Nilgiris district and survey method is used. 7th standard students are chosen randomly and questionnaire is used to collect data from Eighty 7th standard students. Mean, standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA test are used. The results indicate that significant difference is prevailing among moral reasoning of 7th standard students and their profile excluding medium of instruction. Thus, parents should provide better family, psychological and social environment to their 7th standard students in order to improve their moral reasoning abilities. Teachers must stimulate 7th standard students for their creative thinking which will help them to understand things rationally and morally and discover innovative ideas to solve problems related to social, personal and moral values.
