The Security attacks, challenges faced and their solutions in layered IOT architecture

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IOT) is a technology that allows multiple physical devices to be connected to each other and to the internet. The devices can transfer the data over the network without requiring any communication between human to human or human to computer.IOT is a mega technology that can establish connection between different objects and people all of which obtain and share the data about the way they are utilized and about the environment around them. It is used in a wide range of applications including smart cities, industries, connected health, wearables and smart retail. The rapid growth of IOT and its wide range of applications have resulted in many security issues and challenges. Lot of research is being carried out to reduce the problems faced by the IOT devices and find better ways to deal with the issues. In this paper we examine the various security issues from the perspective of layered IOT architecture. In addition the different solutions to overcome the challenges faced at each layer are also discussed in detail.
