Abstract

The study determined the loan availed and the level of empowerment of women in the Taytay sa Kauswagan Inc. (TSKI) – Proyecto sa Kauswagan sa Katilingban (PKK) in the municipality of Buenavista for the Year 2018. The respondents of the study were the women who availed of the TSKI-PKK. The researcher-made-questionnaires on the level of empowerment of women were used in gathering the data from the respondents.  The respondents of the study were classified according to age, educational attainment and income.  The research instruments had undergone validity and reliability using the Cronbach Alpha. The statistical tool used this study were the frequency count,  percentage and mean for descriptive statistics. The inferential tests used were the Mann Whitney U-test, Kruskall-Wallis H-test and Spearman rho for  non parametric data analysis, all set at 0.05 alpha. The findings of the study were majority of the women were 36 years old and above , high school level and graduate, with income below 10,000.00, the average amount of loan availed by the client’s was   Php 13,068.00. There was a moderate  level of empowerment of women.  There were no significant difference in the loan availed by the client’s when classified age, educational attainment, and family monthly income. There were no significant difference in the level of empowerment of women classified according to age educational attainment, and family monthly income. There was a significant relationship of the amount of loan availed and the level of empowerment of women. Based on the findings and conclusion the researchers recommends that the women groups should develop and need for the planning and structure workshop on financial literacy. The TSKI should make a survey to identify the availability of in the resources in the community to help parents augment their family income and the Local Government Units should include the women organization initiative and strategies for economic development.
