Abstract

The building engineering has seen an unprecedented growth in recent years, which in turn raises the market for materials used for building construction. In this business, certain natural ingredients are being used that are currently scarce and the need to find alternatives is the need of the hour. Sand is a natural binder that allows cement with other materials to provide a stronger bond. In this article, alternates are being examined for river sand or natural sand. Two compounds, characterized and compared to the river sand, are being studied. On all three materials, sieve analysis and bulking tests are conducted along with a search for their physical properties. Here the observations are compared and tabulated. The findings suggest that GBFS 's specific gravity and bulk density is slightly smaller than the other two and can be a suitable option as it creates smaller-weight mortar than river sand or m-sand.
