The Study of Synthesis, Characterisation and Also Anion Sensing Property of 8-Hydroxy-5-Nitrosoquinoline

Abstract

 In the present paper, we have prepared a quinoline derivatives naming 8-hydroxy-5-nitroso quinoline by nitrosation and characterized this through FT-IR. The prepared compound can exist as both keto and enol form. The enol form has an efficient metal chelator property, and the keto form, which contains an oxime moiety, is frequently used as an anion sensor. The anion sensing property is seen in UV-visible spectra, which is checked by study the absorption of the prepared compound in DMSO upon the addition of various halide ion solutions. The synthesized compound is beneficial to prepare other derivatives like 8-hydroxy-5 nitroquinoline and 8-hydroxy-5 aminoquinoline.
