Abstract

“Education is a process of self-change of a person, as a result of which he learns new (for himself) knowledge, abilities, skills, and competences ....”. Competence is the ability to carry out both familiar and new professional activities based on the unity of knowledge, skills, and experience. In the article, the author describes the features of medical higher education at the present stage, as well as the role of the teacher in the educational process, who owns the competence and modern pedagogical technologies, as exemplified in the Samarkand State Medical Institute.
