The Effect of Adding Copper Nanoparticles on Some Electrical Properties of Polystyrene Films

Abstract

Specimens of polystyrene ( PS) and pure polystyrene added with copper nanoparticles were produced utilizing the casting process in this research. The impact of applying amount of copper nanoparticles on electrochemical characteristics of polystyrene was tested, the impact of amount of copper nanoparticles and temperature on electrical conductivity was also tested, after that the difference of DC  electrical conductivity for the activation energy nanoparticles was studied. The findings indicate that with rising temperature, the electrical resistance decreased and the activation energy decreased with growing concentration of copper nanoparticles, as well as with rising concentration of copper nanoparticles, electrical conductivity increased.
