Research on Discrimination of Topological Structure Types of Metro Network

Abstract

The difference in the physical geography and socio-economic level of the city has caused the metro networks developing not strictly according to a certain single topological structure type, but a comprehensive structure form combining multiple types. This study proposes an evaluation approaches for metro network structure type which are loss rate of origin and destination station and index of transfer freedom. The proportion of radial, branch and loop lines in metro network are evaluated accordingly, and how each line connects to the network is evaluated quantitatively as well to determine the types of metro network structures.
