Abstract

Fast beaming tracking and security are important factors for the development of future 5G
communication technology. Due to miniaturization and low profile, the passive feed antenna network is
needed for designing the MIMO antenna array. Whereas the hybrid coupler along with the Retrodirective
antenna act as a feed network in the MIMO system to provide power division. The interesting property
retrodirectivity is the fact that without any apriori information about the sources, it can respond to any signal
location (incoming). The purpose of this paper is to design a Rat race coupler which acts as a Retrodirective
mode in ANSYS at the resonant frequency is 2.5 GHz. The couplers have been devised using the Glass Epoxy
substrate (FR4) with dielectric constant (?r = 4.4). S parameters, radiation pattern, insertion, and isolation
losses are obtained from ANSYS software.
