Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the mediating effect of community leadership
towards community resilience dimensions (community awareness, community attitude, and
community exposure) and community response using questionnaires gathered from 542 samples of
the Banda Aceh Province community in Aceh, Indonesia. The outcomes of Smart PLS version 3.2.8
path model showed three important findings: firstly, the relationship between community leadership
and community awareness significantly correlated with community response. Second, the
relationship between community leadership and community attitude significantly correlated with
community response. Third, the relationship between community leadership and community
exposure significantly correlated with community response. Statistically, this result confirms that
community leadership does act as an important mediating variable between community resilience
dimensions (community awareness, community attitude, and community exposure), and community
response. The role of community leadership as a mediator in the relationship between IVs and DV
were complementary mediation-partial mediation. In addition, discussion, implications and
conclusion are elaborated.
